Chamaedorea elegans, also known as the Neanthe Bella Parlor Palm, are one of the most fun and easy-care plants that you can take from a 30cm tall desk plant to a 1.8m stunner by repotting once a year into a larger pot.
This palm is actually from the same family that produce dates and coconuts from the top of them. This is like the lazy cousin of that family that produces from the base, which is also unlikely when planted indoors. On the upside, you can expect to yield plenty of tropical vibes and consistent reliability in appearance without the high maintenance.
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, can tolerate low indirect light. Not suited for intense, direct sun.
Water every 1-2 weeks, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Increase frequency with increased light.
Normal household temperatures 16-24°C, can cope with short periods down to 10°C. Avoid draughts.
